Charles Bailey is running for Massachusetts House of Representatives' 10th Norfolk district in the United States. This district is one of 160 legislative districts included in the lower house of the Massachusetts General Court. It covers part of Norfolk County including Franklin and Medway.
Developing strong leaders is a collective responsibility within any community. At its core, leadership is the ability to motivate individuals to accomplish a mission.
Charles Bailey is an U.S. Army Infantry Veteran, Retired Franklin Firefighter, Paramedic, Educator, and Hockey Coach. His leadership journey began at Camp Hovey, Korea where he encountered an older soldier who initially seemed uninspiring. Over time, Charles grew to admire this soldier's even temper and wit, despite his lack of visible ambition. This soldier's guidance, critiques, and realistic combat scenarios significantly shaped Charles's development as a leader and his desire to serve his community.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Charles Bailey's page. In 2022, Bailey ran to become the State Representative for the 10th Norfolk District as a write-in candidate in the Primary and later received 6,852 votes in the General Election. He appreciates each person behind every vote and has learned a lot about the important issues needing immediate attention. Life in our communities has deteriorated significantly over these past two years, and something needs to be done.
Charles Bailey is a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran, Retired Franklin Firefighter, Paramedic, Educator, Hockey Coach, and proud father of two amazing young adults. All his past experiences have prepared him for this opportunity, and he welcomes the challenges that lie ahead.
In the summer of 2022, Charles Bailey and his wife, Anna, visited England for the first time. Unable to tour Westminster Abbey, they attended a Sunday Mass and noticed an inscription on a podium which said, "Attempt Great Things for God." This message resonated deeply with Charles. Upon returning home, he received a flier from Mass Fiscal Alliance urging people to run for office, citing economic uncertainty, taxes, and corruption as reasons we need strong leadership.
Charles has always been a leader—training young Infantrymen, coaching hockey players, and educating future paramedics. Inspired by the flier, he felt called to run for office, believing he could make a difference. While he finds it challenging to talk about himself, his purpose and joy come from his family, community, and working towards a stronger Republic.
